Scripture Quote: The thief comes only to take the sheep and to put them to death: he comes for their destruction: I have come so that they may have life and have it in greater measure. John 10:10 (BBE)
God created each of us for a relationship with Him and to live an abundant life. Unfortunately, some rough trials can steal us away from God, leaving us feeling very far from Him. We start to dwell on the unpleasant situation more than we do the love and good intent of God. Maybe a Christian suffered a deep hurt, or he feels that he has messed up too much to be forgiven. Fear is another of the many nasty tactics of the enemy. Satan wants to make Believers anticipate dreadful outcomes, which can stop us from walking in the joy of the Lord.
It is remarkable how we can turn our backs on Jesus when things go sideways in life, instead of leaning on His power and protection. Jesus came so that humanity could have an abundance of grace, peace, love, life and salvation - There isn't anything the enemy or this world can do to change that. We can decide to trust in our great God and prevent our decline into fear and hopelessness. All we really need do is to remember that Christians are preparing for a glorious immortality with our sovern Lord - There is nothing greater than that!
Today’s meditation: Troubles shouldn’t steal our joy.
Memory Verse: For this reason he says, ‘Be awake, you who are sleeping, and come up from among the dead, and Christ will be your light.” Ephesians 5:14 (BBE)
