Follow the Road to Salvation
(God's Word -- Slightly transposed)
by, Toni Smothers
Know this truth: there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent -- In the same way, I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents. . . .
If you are truthful with yourself, you know you’ve sinned and fallen far short of the glory of God. We are all like sheep that have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the LORD has laid on Christ Jesus the iniquity of us all. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. By grace you have been saved through faith.
Salvation is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one dare boast. Jesus saved you, not because of works done by you in righteousness, but according to His own mercy. The washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit are your blessed gifts.
We have all become like one who is unclean and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away. But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. God gave his only Son, so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved - To everyone who receives Him, who believes in His name, He gives the right to become children of God. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
These things are written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God - Know that you have eternal life. Whoever hears God’s Word and believes that He sent Christ Jesus, will have eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
