Scripture Reading: Ephesians 2:1`4-22
Scripture Quote: Therefore, remember that formerly you who are Gentiles by birth and called "uncircumcised" by those who call themselves "the circumcision" (which is done in the body by human hands)— (Ephesians 2:11 NIV)
Between the Jews and the Gentiles there had been a great enmity, as there is between God and Nonbelievers. Jesus brought peace to all the groups by His sacrificial death and encouragement to unify. He removed the previously binding power of ceremonial law, which was the cause of the prevailing enmity between them. By removing ceremonies and rites, and the separation between the two groups in the temple, they were no longer acceptable for demonstrating faithfulness to God - Separation and contention by outward demonstrations were no longer an issue.
Christ formed one church of Believers, whether they had been Jews or Gentiles. He united all Believers to himself as they were renewed into faith in His Gospel message. So Christ not only destroyed the enmity between Gentile and Jew, but also between man and God. Jesus made peace for each of us by the sacrifice of Himself. We have been given free access to the Father, through Christ, with the help of the Holy Spirit. By virtue of Christ's mediation, we can confidently approach the very presence of the Creator of the universe - No greater love has any man ever shown!
Today’s meditation: Christ has made us one.
Memory Verse: Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! (Romans 5:9 NIV)
